WHAT THE RVM DOES
Primarily, the RVM trains and organizes volunteers to support disaster or tactical operations for the communities they derive from. Supporting first responders and other volunteer organizations which serve the people. We believe strongly in the principle of responsibility for ones family, community and country during a time of need.
In addition, it provides a social community for like minded individuals and their families who share a common place of principles & preparedness.
HOW WE SERVE
Provide trained personnel to assist or supplement first responders during life safety operations: When sizeable disasters or emergencies occur, local first responders can be quickly overwhelmed, with assistance from neighboring regions, the state or federal level being hours to days away. The RVM provides trained personnel to assist with life safety operations such as Search & Rescue, Mass Casualty Incidents and more.
Provide ICS trained personnel to support Emergency Operations Centers functions: Many areas lack trained and experienced personnel to man the critical positions within a EOC and its many support roles. Whether it be radio operators, logistics personnel, information analysists or resource management, we are prepared to help.
Volunteer Coordination: Organizing and tasking misc. community volunteers as well as outside volunteer organizations coming in to the area can be a heavy task. Our ability to structure and implement volunteers where needed takes a huge task off of the EOC's plate.
Debris Clearing & Damage Assessment: When roads are blocked and structures have been damaged, we provide personnel to get the roads open and assess damage to help the recovery & reimbursement efforts of our neighbors.
Security & Defense: In the most unfortunate of emergencies, local security services may be overwhelmed or underprepared to ensure/establish community safety & defense. The RVM may help supplement needed personnel through the coordination of local officials to fill necessary gaps in security for critical infrastructure and the public through our professional volunteers (and lawful firearm owner's), who have received applicable training in areas such as Marksmanship & Weapons Handling, Security Operations, Small Unit Tactics, Use of Force, Detainment Techniques, Tactical Medicine and Defensive Operations.
